Welcome to Stagecoach Canterbury where we provide quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 4-18yrs. Our aim is to nurture and develop young potential through singing, acting and dance classes in Canterbury, stretching young imaginations and building confidence. We ensure that each child gets the most out of their experience by building life skills and confidence while having lots of fun. Stagecoach Canterbury opened in 1996 and many of our students have gone on to achieve great things.

WE OFFER LAMDA TUITION!

We offer solo tuition by Lamda Teachers for Lamda Exams in Acting, Speaking Verse and Prose, Public Speaking and Musical Theatre. These are a great way of building up confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas as well as taking exams.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

We now offer even more payment options! As an Ofsted registered school, we are pleased to be able to accept payments from the Childcare Voucher schemes and via the Tax Free Childcare scheme. In addition to this, you may prefer to split your fees over 12 months and pay via our new Direct Debit option. Contact us for more information.

SLEEPING BEAUTY

Congratulations to our wonderful students who took part in the Pantomime Sleeping Beauty at The Tower Theatre in Folkestone.

Performance Arts Awards

Our students will have the opportunity to work on group Performance Arts Awards. Graded examinations in Musical Theatre. This process is great fun and gives the children access to a varied assortment of musical theatre resources, whilst also gaining UCAS points once in the higher grades.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

We understand that with the increasing demands on parents, juggling the pressures of work and family life, time is of the essence. Therefore Stagecoach Parties provide a way to remove the stress from what should be a day of celebration for everyone and allow you to sit back, relax and let us do all the work! Whether they want to be fairies, pirates or detectives, there is a Stagecoach Party for everyone!

Meet The Team

Principal - Claire Beddow

We are delighted to announce that Claire Beddow is going to be the managing Principal for Stagecoach Canterbury. Claire has been a teacher at Canterbury stagecoach for 8 years and has a wealth of knowledge & experience to bring to the role.

Claire started her training at the age of 4 and went on to further her qualifications at Pattisons College, where she became an Associate of the I.S.T.D and I.D.T.A. Claire has had a long career in the Performing Arts in Musicals and Cabaret as well as choreographing numerous shows and performances with her own dance troupe C’est Chic. As a Choreographer she has worked with many Artistes such as Danny La Rue and Cheryl Baker to name but a few.
