Welcome to Stagecoach Grimsby! Since 1998, we’ve offered high-quality part-time training in singing, dancing, and acting for ages 2–18. Our nurturing environment helps students build confidence, make friends, and grow life skills through the performing arts. With non-compulsory exams, community performances, and fun holiday workshops, there’s something for everyone. Join us and see how we inspire Creative Courage for Life!

Mini Stages

Mini Stages classes give young children the chance to explore creativity through movement, storytelling and imaginative play, while also supporting early development in memory, coordination and social skills.

Meet the team
Meet our Principal
Kelly taught Dance at Stagecoach Grimsby for 16 years before becoming Principal in 2024. Trained at Sylvia Young, ArtsEd, and Urdang, she holds a BA (Hons) in Dance and Drama, QTS, and qualifications in ISTD, IDTA, RAD, and LAMDA. She’s worked in TV, film, and the West End, and examined nationwide. Passionate about helping every child shine, Kelly brings energy, expertise, and care to Stagecoach’s creative and supportive environment.

Joel Browne
Singing, Further Stages
Joel is a highly experienced Music Teacher, Musical Director, Pianist, and Singer who has… spent many years performing and directing choirs, bands, and theatre casts. He works with schools and performing arts groups across Lincolnshire, sharing the power of music to boost wellbeing and personal growth. Joel brings energy and expertise to every class—and when not making music, he enjoys spending time with his family.

Joanne Dent
Drama, Dance, Early Stages, Further Stages
Joanne has danced since she was 18 months old and holds RAD qualifications in… tap, ballet, modern jazz, national, and Greek dance. She has danced with Wayne Sleep, Sheridan Smith, and H from Steps, and performed professionally in pantomime. Joanne also teaches dance in local schools for NELC and is qualified in singing, piano, and music theory. With a CACHE Diploma in Childcare and first aid training, she brings experience, care, and energy to every class.

Laura Melbourne
Dance, Early Stages
Laura has over 20 years of dance teaching experience across schools, competitions, and IDTA… exams. She holds an Associate Freestyle qualification and a National Diploma in Performing Arts from Grimsby University. A former freestyle and rock n roll champion, she placed 9th in the Latin Championships at Blackpool. Laura has judged IDTA and Global Rock events and brings passion, versatility, and expert choreography to every class she teaches.

Holly Wright
Early Stages Assistant
Holly began dancing at age 2 and later specialised in Ballroom and Latin, competing… in NATD events in Blackpool. Now based in Louth, she is studying Drama for GCSE and has taken singing lessons with a West End performer. Holly recently played Teen Fiona in Shrek at the Riverhead Theatre. As an Early Stages Assistant, she supports children’s learning and confidence in singing, dancing, and acting, while also attending to their pastoral needs.

Isabella Wynne Smith
Early Stages Assistant
Isabella is a former Stagecoach student with a passion for all things theatre. She… now assists with our Early Stages classes, supporting both the creative and pastoral needs of our youngest performers. Isabella helps children build skills in singing, dancing, and acting while encouraging confidence, creativity, and self-expression. Her calm and caring presence helps create a fun, supportive environment where every child can thrive.
