Stagecoach Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare

Hello and welcome to Stagecoach Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare where we provide quality and fun training in Performing Arts for students aged 4-18. Our aim is to give all our students ‘creative courage for life’. We do this by delivering nurturing and exceptional classes in singing, dance and drama that are inclusive of all children. We can develop confidence in all our students and help them to achieve their goals and aspirations. We have at least two performances a year where we invite parents to come and watch and enjoy the progress of their own stars. In our prestigious schools our aim is for all students to come away feeling happy, self confident, inspired and having made new friends for life.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Whether they want to be fairies, pirates or detectives, there is a Stagecoach Party for everyone!

Meet The Team

Principal - Heidi Rees

Heidi has always been a “dancing, before she could walk” and “singing, before she could talk” kind of girl. This passion and desire for Performing Arts secured her a place into the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts London, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Acting.

Throughout her professional career she has fulfilled a variety of jobs in many London venues in a wide variety of theatrical genres from Shakespeare plays to pantomime. Her favourite job in the past, was working as an actress for BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Wales comedy productions and Women’s Hour Dramas. However becoming her childhood idols Minnie/Mickey Mouse and Alice in Wonderland in Disneyland Paris comes as a close second.

Her passion for directing and theatre has driven her to understand teaching and its methods in greater depth. She has a GTP and a PGCE in Higher Education that means she is qualified to teach Drama to all ages and enjoys the challenge of individualising teaching towards each student. She has worked for Stagecoach intermittently as a Drama teacher since 2009, however motherhood has caused the greatest sabbatical.

Now after spending 4 years at home with her two young boys, Heidi has decided to find a career which allows her to fulfil all her ‘loves’ as Stagecoach Principal.

Heidi is more than excited to make each of her Stagecoach schools, each pupil and each day a happy and successful one.
