Here at Stagecoach Cockermouth we run a positive and nurturing school that provides fun and education in a supportive, creative and nurturing environment. 

Our Stagecoach team are passionate about the performing arts and classes are available to children aged 4-18 and are either 1.5 hours of 3 hours of dancing, singing and acting! In addition to our regular classes we also offer LAMDA tuition (Acting exams) and RockSchool Ltd Awards (Musical Theatre), specialist West End workshops, the opportunity to work with professional companies and a yearly written report on your child's progress.

CHILDCARE VOUCHERS

We are delighted to announce that we accept Childcare Vouchers, we are registered with over 10 Childcare Vouchers providers and the list is growing! Being Ofsted registered enables us to offer this service to our families. We are also registered with the Tax Free Childcare scheme. You can use these methods to pay for all classes and workshops.

EXAMS

We offer ‘LAMDA’ Acting exams and ‘Rock School’ Musical Theatre exams. These progressive and practical exams are delivered by experienced Stagecoach tutors. Both boards are accredited by OFQUAL and provide students with credits that automatically form part of a career-long portfolio. Students as young as six can be working towards their future!

TRINITY ANNUAL REVIEW

We are delighted to announce that Trinity College London is working with Stagecoach Performing Arts to support the quality assurance of our Stagecoach Schools Annual Review programme. Trinity experts conduct reviews and feedback to Principals to ensure the quality of our schools and safety of our students is exemplary.

Our son started Early Stages when he was 5 he is now in Main Stages and is loving it! We believe that his experience at Stagecoach has instilled within him a passion for the arts. He has grown and develop into a confident entertainer and a successful team member. Our weekend has to be organised around Stagecoach, or we are in big trouble!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Naomi Bewsher - BA (hons)

Naomi is a performer and teacher in the arts. She gained her Performing Arts degree at Middlesex University in 2001. Before becoming the Principal of her own schools, Naomi taught for over six years for Kendal and Lancaster Stagecoach in Early Stages and Main School. She was also Head of the Performing Arts Department at Lancaster and Morecambe College, managing and delivering the Btec Performing Arts Qualification. Naomi teaches in both primary and secondary schools in the local area, is a LAMDA teacher and a Dance Artist for Cumbria County Council.
