Stagecoach Putney

At Stagecoach Putney, we offer an all round Performing Arts training experience. We have regular singing, acting and dance classes within school term time, but we also offer holiday workshops, LAMDA examinations, theatre trips and additional performing opportunities outside of Stagecoach.

We put on a production once a year and have a Performance Troupe open to every child. We pride ourselves on offering quality part time classes in singing, acting and dance for 4-18 year olds, in a safe and nurturing environment. We have developed a unique Educational Framework for each stage of learning. We want to help develop every child's inner confidence and 'Creative Courage' and help even the shyest children become more outgoing and build skills that will last a lifetime.

Our classes run on Wednesdays at St Mary's Primary School and Fridays and Saturdays at Brandlehow Primary School. We offer 90 minute 'Early Stages' classes for 4-6 year olds and 3 hour 'Main Stages' classes for children aged 6 years plus. It is never to late to give Stagecoach a go, with our eldest students enjoying our 'Further Stages' classes for up to 18 years. West End spectacular!

A huge well done to our Further Performance Troupe who took to the stage at His Majesty's Theatre in London's West End this month. 18 of our students worked together on an original piece and had a blast at 'Stagecoach Live' with other Stagecoach schools from around the country. An amazing display of professionalism and team work!

LAMDA Exams

In addition to our Stagecoach sessions we also offer London Academy of music and Dramatic Art tuition . In LAMDA lessons, students work on monologues or poems and prose. Our focus is on improving diction and technique, and interpretation ending with an exam. The lessons are a great way to really focus on building skills in a one-to-one environment.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Emma Beet

Emma has a passion for the Performing Arts, her background is particularly based in Dance and Drama. After a childhood of appearing on stage with a local dance school, and a long association with Elmbridge Youth Theatre, Emma then went on to achieve her Bachelor of Arts in Drama and English Literature from Winchester University. She then continued her studies in Cultural Policy and Management at City University, London. From 2004-2013, Emma worked as a Regional Manager for Stagecoach Performing Arts Head Office and spent that time travelling around the country seeing many of the 600 schools in action.

In 2013, Emma joined the network of Principals taking over the Stagecoach school in Farnham, Surrey. She then took on Stagecoach Putney in 2020 and has enjoyed watching it go from strength to strength. As a Principal she knows from direct experience how Stagecoach delivers on its aim to help every student achieve their own personal goals and find a safe space to develop 'Creative Courage for Life'.
