We believe that the whole world is a stage and the skills children learn at Stagecoach South Tyneside will help them at school, university and in their future careers. We offer excellent part time training in the performing arts – Singing, Dance & Drama for 4-18 year olds - helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation, as well as being educational, safe and lots of fun.
We believe in Creative Courage for Life creating an environment in which the students are encouraged to reach their full potential, whether that is making new friends, developing confidence or following their dreams on the stage.

EARLY STAGES PLUS - NEW!

We’re delighted to tell you about a NEW class running from September: EARLY STAGES PLUS! Designed especially for 6-7 year olds, this 2 hour weekly session will allow children to experience tailored singing, dancing and acting tuition in a fun and friendly environment, providing the perfect springboard to our Main Stages classes!

Calling all 4-6 Year olds

Come and join us for a two week trial for our Early Stages class for 4-6 year olds. Young children become more confident and develop lifelong skills at our safe, fun and welcoming singing, dancing and drama classes. Our Early Stages classes last 90 minutes and are held weekly at 9.30am am on Saturday Mornings. £25 for the two week trial.

Calling all 6-14's

Come and join our Main Stages Classes for 6-14 year olds. Children and teens explore their creativity as they develop singing, dancing and drama skills in our engaging performing arts classes. Our Main Stages classes run for 3 hours per week 10 am on Saturday mornings. Come and give it a try for two weeks call 07721726622 for more information.

Further Stages

Do you LOVE Performing Arts and would like to achieve a qualification whist doing what you love ? Come & join us in our Further Stages Classes and achieve your Level 3 Performance Arts Award in Musical Theatre worth up to 30 UCAS POINTS !

Childcare Vouchers

We are delighted to announce that Stagecoach South Tyneside is now registered with Ofsted, which means we can now accept Childcare Vouchers for all our classes and holiday workshops. Did you know Stagecoach South Tyneside are registered with the Government Tax Free Childcare "Childcare Choices Scheme" as a Childcare Provider. Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Develop your skills in the three core performing arts disciplines of singing, dancing and acting with our Adult Classes. Whether you have previous experience in the performing arts or you’re a complete beginner, you’ll be able to learn something new and explore musical theatre skills in a friendly, fun and safe environment.

Meet The Team

Principal - Catherine Hymers

Catherine has always had a love for Performing Arts creating many shows in her sitting room from a young age. She attended dance & drama classes but longed for a class that combined singing, dance & drama. She studied GCSE drama, A level Performing Arts and more recently graduated with her Post Graduate Certificate in Event & Venue Management.
 
Catherine has over 20 years experience in the world of Entertainment.Her professional career on the stage began as a famous Butlins Redcoat, during her time at Butlins she had the pleasure of working as one of the Wizz Kids in the children’s theatre alongside H from Steps and was Head Girl for Dougie Squires & Anthony Johns in the inaugural year of the Skyline Pavilion.
 
Catherine enjoyed over 6 years working for Princess Cruises as part of the management team both at sea and on land in Los Angeles. She loved working for the onboard Entertainments Team, both performing & hosting the shows, running all onboard activities and training all new team members.
 
Since 2007 when Catherine came to the North East she has had the pleasure of working at many iconic venues in the North East - as Head of Customer Experience and Operations Director; The Sage Gateshead, The Customs House & The Fire Station, Sunderland, leading teams of over 150 staff, ensuring that all customers had a safe & exceptional experience. She was also responsible for licensing, Health & safety and First Aid training, so your children are in safe hands!
 
Catherine, her husband and three children love living in South Tyneside and being part of the community. She strongly believes in “Creating courage for Life”, and can’t wait to help your children grow in confidence whilst learning performing arts skills. She is bubbly, fun, friendly and creative so will provide an exciting curriculum for South Tyneside, Washington & Chester le Street.
